Why this exists

The consultation is the most important moment in a barber's day. It's where you learn what the client wants, what their hair can do, and what will make them come back. The Consultation System gives that moment a structure — so nothing gets missed, nothing gets forgotten, and every cut starts with clarity.

A surgeon doesn't walk into an operating room and improvise. Neither should a barber. Every cut is a decision — about length, technique, product, timing. The Consultation System captures those decisions in real time so they can be referenced, refined, and repeated.

Think about the last time a client sat down and said "same as last time." Without a record, that's a guess. With the Consultation System, it's exact. You know the guard, the taper length, whether they wanted the lineup sharp or natural, whether they had a cowlick you had to work around. That precision is what turns a good barber into someone's permanent barber.

The barber who consults best retains the most. Not because the cut is always perfect — but because the client feels heard, understood, and taken seriously. That's what a system does. How it works

• 01 Open a new consultation before the cut begins. One tap from the client's profile or from the main screen.
• 02 Record the service type, client preferences, and any observations — hair texture, scalp condition, growth patterns, cowlick locations. Things you'd normally keep in your head and forget by tomorrow.
• 03 Add a do/do not list — the rules specific to this client. "Don't touch the sideburns." "Always line up the beard." "Sensitive behind the ears." These carry forward to every future visit.
• 04 Take before photos if needed. Visual records catch details that words miss — asymmetry, density differences, natural fall patterns.
• 05 Complete the cut — add service notes and after photos. What products you used, what technique worked, what you'd adjust next time.
• 06 Save. The record is permanent and tied to the client profile. Next time they sit down, everything is there. No guessing, no "remind me what we did."

Real world

A client comes in for a mid fade every three weeks. On their fourth visit, they mention they're going to a wedding. Without the Consultation System, you give them the usual cut. With it, you pull up their history, see the notes from visit two where they said they liked it tighter on the sides, and you know their hair grows fast on the left temple. You adjust.
